A second half collapse saw Pinchbeck United lose 4-0 at Lincoln United on Saturday as the mini-revival came to an end.
After a draw with Belper and victory over Blackstones in their previous outings, the Knights held their own in the first half on Saturday at a Lincoln side who sit third in the league with games in hand on those above them.
Pinchbeck fell behind two minutes after the re-start when Jack McGovern netted amid a goal mouth scramble.
Elliott Dye doubled the lead in the 65th minute with a flicked header which gave Lewis Cox in the United goal no chance.
Pinchbeck remained in the game until five minutes from time when sub Jake Park poked home a cross to seal the points for Lincoln.
Then Kallum Smith rounded off the scoring in the second minute of stoppage time.
The Knights remain at the bottom of the United Counties League Premier Division with six points from their opening 14 games.
Manager Lewis Thorogood’s side will look to improve on that record this weekend as they host Heanor Town at the Sir Halley Stewart.
The week after they’ll take on Highfield United in the second round of the FA Vase.
Knights: Cox, Ibeneme, Jaine, Kanu, Robson, Simpson, Skhoyimue, Spafford, Stevens, Williams, Yambasu. Subs: Djalo, Henderson, Slater.
