Pinchbeck United slumped to a 6-1 defeat at Heanor Town in the United Counties League Premier Division North.
The home side were dominant and led 4-1 at the break.
Heanor had already gone close on a couple of occasions before Max Thornberry gave the lead in the seventh minute after the Knights failed to deal with a corner.
After hitting both the post and bar, Heanor doubled their advantage on 19 minutes through Jamie Sleigh. It was 3-0 on 37 minutes and although Logan Tate pulled one back for Pinchbeck three minutes before the break, just a minute later Sacha Markelic made it 4-1.
The Knights were better in the second period and Flynn Slater was only denied by a good save from the Heanor keeper.
But a goal in the 61st minute from Lewis Weaver and Thornberry with his second in the 68th minute made it six for the home side.
The gap between second-from-bottom Pinchbeck and bottom placed team Hucknall Town has been reduced to just a point after the Nottinghamshire side earned a second consecutive draw, this time at Eastwood.
The Knights face a tough task at the weekend as they make the trip to league leaders Sherwood Colliery.
