Eynesbury Rovers 2 Pinchbeck United 2

Pinchbeck United were held to a draw by 10-man Eynesbury Rovers in the Future Spots United Counties League Premier Division on Saturday.

The Knights were a goal and man up as they bid to finish fourth in their first season at this level.

But they had to settle for a hard earned point thanks to goals from Charlie West and a Lee Beeson penalty.

Eynesbury thought they had the lead in the 11th minute when Dan Draper’s shot from the edge of the area went in including past an offside home player ruled to be interfering with play.

Both sides had chances in the first half, Chris Shipley twice going close for the Knights.

It was they who took a 39th minute lead when Beeson’s ball from the right was headed back across goal and poked home from close range by West who had come on as a sub after an earlier injury to Alex Beck.

Just before the break Eynesbury were level in similar circumstances, Matt Clarke with the tap in this time following a low cross from the right by Jordan Brown.

Shipley again went close with an effort from the edge of the area for Pinchbeck as the half resumed but the Knights were ahead just past the hour.

Jordan Jarrold’s clumsy challenge from behind on Andrew Tidswell resulting in a red card for the defender before Beeson fired the ball just inside the post from the spot to make it 2-1.

Pinchbeck were unable to hold on however and they were pegged back with 14 minutes remaining.

Sub Max Clifford curled a superb direct free kick from the edge that beat a sprawling Ricky Lovelace at his near post.

Lovelace had to be about again to thwart at Eynesbury counter late on but Pinchbeck were also unable to fashion more chances as the home side settled for what they had.
