Kanu’s double elation is short-lived

Pinchbeck United’s delight at climbing out of the United Counties League Premier Division North relegation place proved to be short-lived.

A penalty in each half from Amadu Kanu secured a 2-0 win against Belper United, ending a run of eight defeats.
However, less than an hour later news came in from relegation rivals Hucknall Town that they had recorded an unexpected 2-1 win at Ashby Ivanhoe in a late kick-off to stay one point ahead.
The relegation rivals go head-to-head in a potential six-pointer next week.
Knights: Cox, Simpson, Fields, Wilkinson (Melson), Cranfield, Brooks, Kanu (Callaghan), Stevens (Nicholson), Hunt (Tate), Robson, Slater (Bowen).
Attendance: 23.
