Ben Johnson’s stoppage time winner on Saturday ensured Pinchbeck United are safe from the drop from the Premier Division North of the United Counties League.
That secured a 3-2 win over Heanor Town at the Sir Halley Stewart Field and gave them breathing space going into their final match of the campaign at Selston on Tuesday.
Andre Williams gave The Knights an early lead but they trailed 2-1 at the break.
Williams scored again to give Pinchbeck the point they needed to stay out of the bottom two, before substitute Johnson made sure of all three points.
Tuesday’s trip to bottom-placed Selston provided typical end-of-season fare on a tricky surface.
Jordan Black gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half and they got a second with seven minutes remaining to earn their first home win of the season.
