Jarvis targeting ten points from Holbeach United’s final four

Wisbech Town 0
Holbeach United 0

Darren Jarvis has challenged his Holbeach United side to finish their UCL Premier Division season with a flourish.

The Tigers chief was pleased to see his side bounce back from Saturday’s shock loss at Northampton Sileby Rangers with a solid 0-0 draw at title-chasing Wisbech Town on Easter Monday.

Both sides saw players sent off, with Holbeach’s Gary King and Wisbech’s Tom James dismissed.

The Tigers get the chance to gain instant revenge against Sileby as they visit Carter’s Park this Saturday (3pm), before finishing their campaign with games against Thurnby Nirvana (home, Wednesday, 7.45pm), Long Buckby (away, April 18) and Harborough Town (home, April 25).

Jarvis said: “On paper, you’d always take a draw at Wisbech. So in that respect, I’m happy – and to get four points off them this season is good for the club.

“The disappointing thing was to see Gary King sent off. He was booked, then was the victim of mistaken identity – he got his second yellow for something Aidan Kirby did. It’s a shame, Gary has been excellent for us recently and his attitude has been different class.

“Overall, I thought it was a good defensive performance from us. We played with much more width and had our chances to win the game.

“It’ll stand us in good stead for the final four games. You look at our fixtures and see we’ve probably got three very winnable games and one very tough one.

“Obviously I’d like 12 points, but if we can get ten I’d be chuffed and we’d finish the season on a real high. We’ll take nothing for granted, but that’s the target I’ve set for the lads.”

Holbeach hope to hand a debut to midfielder Jack Marsden against Sileby on Saturday. King (thigh) and Stacy Cartwright are doubts.

Tigers: Conroy, Worthington, Warfield (Keeble), Brown (Sanders), Cartwright (Delahoy), Newman, King, Kirby, Tidswell, Clarke, Parker.
