Jarvis felt Holbeach United were toothless in Eynesbury bore draw

Disappointed Darren Jarvis felt it was two points dropped for his Holbeach United side as they could only draw 0-0 at Eynesbury Rovers on Saturday.

The title-chasing Tigers extended their unbeaten run in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division to eight games with the stalemate at the Alfred Hall Memorial Ground.

In a game of few chances, Jake Clitheroe had Holbeach’s stand-out opportunity when he turned a great Gary King cross wide.

Jarvis admitted there was little else for his side to shout about going forward – and was a litlle disappointed with the amount they created against a side that were in the bottom five at the start of play.

He said: “To be fair, Eynesbury are a much better side than their league position would suggest.

“I thought they looked a very good side with more than a few very decent players.

“But, with respect, I was hoping we’d go there and get the three points.

“We were very solid at the back, but going forward we were very disappointing.

“No disrespect to Eynesbury, it’s a great club, but I see it as two points dropped for us.

“I just expected us to create an awful lot more.

“Other than Jake’s chance, I can’t really recall anything else of note in the game.

“It’s not a bad point for us, I do think teams will find it tough going there.

“But I can’t hide the fact I wanted all three.”

To add to Holbeach’s overall disappointment, they lost ever-present right back Dan Worthington to a nasty-looking head injury in the first half.

The talented youngster was taken to hospital and diagnosed with having secondary concussion, which ruled him out of Wednesday night’s game at Harrowby United  and makes him a serious doubt for Saturday’s home clash with Wellingborough Town.

Jarvis added: “It was a real shame for Dan, he was our only player to have played in every minute of every game.

“Thankfully he’s OK – and maybe the few games out will give him some time to rest up.

“I’m sure he’ll come back stronger for us.”

Tigers: Drury, Worthington (Ward), Jackson, Pinner, Cartwright, Warfield, Clitheroe (Thomas), Tidswell, King, J Ford, Treacher. Not used: Stevens, Dougill, H Ford.

Attendance: 92.
