Issue puts brakes on Pulling’s progress in France but she’s ready to charge in Hungary

Abbi Pulling endured a frustrating weekend at Paul Ricard in the W Series as braking issues forced her to settle for a ninth placed finish.

Round four at Le Castellet was once again won by dominant series leader Jamie Chadwick, with Spanish duo Belen Garcia and Nerea Marti taking second and third places respectively.

Gosberton talent Pulling, who qualified 12th, was embroiled in a battle with team-mates Marta Garcia and Fabienne Wohlwend in a battle for sixth for most of the race in the French heat, which was blighted by two safety car periods.

But she was overtaken by fellow Brit Sarah Moore late on and had to settle for ninth place.

She remains second in the driver standings, but is now 70 points behind Chadwick.

“Last weekend was not the result we wanted,” bemoaned Pulling. “I had braking issues throughout the whole weekend.

“Hopefully we’ll get them fixed and be on the charge again in Hungary – it’s a new track for me.”

Pulling is already in Budapest for the next round at at the famous Hungaroring circuit.

Practice gets underway at 10.50am local time on Friday, with qualifying at 6.25pm.

Saturday’s race starts at 1.40pm (local time) with Sky Sports again providing live coverage.
