Inquiry into bodies found in Spalding home now murder investigation

The finding of bodies in a Spalding home is now a murder investigation, Lincolnshire Police has confirmed.

Two bodies of people in their 30s were found at a property in Winsover Road at around 5.30am last Thursday.

The deceased have not yet been named.

Two men who were at the property at the time were arrested on suspicion of murder, but have now been released with no further action.

At the time Lincolnshire Police said it was “keeping an open mind” over the cause of death, but this morning (Saturday, June 27) it released a statement confirming this is now a murder investigation.

Detective Inspector Andy McWatt, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “I recognise this is a deeply sad time for the family and friends of those involved and worrying for the local community.

“Our investigation is in the early stages but I can update we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.

“I will be in a position to share more information in the coming days.  I ask that the privacy of those affected by this investigation is respected.

“If anyone has concerns or information they would like to pass I ask that they get in touch.”
