Buoyant boss Seb Hayes has challenged his side to keep their fine run of form going and finish the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division season without losing another game.
Having won their last four – including successes over Newport Pagnell Town and Eynesbury Rovers in the past week – the Tigers are back into the top six.
Placing at least fifth – the position Holbeach were in when he replaced Tom Roberts as boss – is the aim for Hayes.
He wants to go unbeaten against Cogenhoe United (home, Saturday, 3pm), Boston Town (home, April 15), Wisbech Town (away, April 17), Peterborough Northern Star (away, April 22) and Wellingborough Town (home, April 29).
And, given Holbeach’s fine recent form, Hayes feels nobody will now want to play his side.
“There’s no reason why we can’t finish unbeaten,” enthused the Tigers supremo. “That’s the aim now and I feel we can do it.
“I set the lads an in-house target with 11 games to go. Now, with just five matches left, we’re very much on track with that.
“The players keep talking about that target, so I feel like they’ve really taken that on board.
“It’s funny, about a month ago I think anybody would have fancied playing us. Now, I doubt any side really wants to face us.
“Our final five games aren’t easy, we’ve got a few local derbies and some in-form teams to face.
“But our aim has to be to try and get into the top four. I’d like to get fifth at least, as that’s where the club was when I got the job. Things have changed a lot since then and I’m happy with the squad.
“We’ve tried to blood a few under-18s and everybody has been pleased with how they’ve reacted. That will continue and I can guarantee that they’ll keep getting game time.
“We’ve got a young gem in Dan Dougill. If we can unearth another, everyone will be delighted.”
Ahead of Saturday’s Carter’s Park date with Cogenhoe, Hayes has George Zuerner fit again after picking up a knock against Pagnell, while Ollie Pinner could return.
Cogenhoe – who are 14th in the table – will be gunning for a win after arriving at Holbeach for the game back in February, only to discover it had been called off while they were travelling.
