Hospital parking price set to rise

Parking prices for patients and visitors at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust are to go up on Monday.

The trust is joining forces with ParkingEye to introduce numberplate recognition system at all of its car parks.

Patients will then pay at the end of their stay at one of the kiosks using their registration number. Payment can be with cash, card or contactless.

“The introduction of the new technology is in no way responsible for the increase,” said a statement.

The parking money will be used by the trust to cover the cost of providing parking and security at its sites.

The increase is an average of 10p an hour to £1.70 for up to an hour, £4.20 for one to four hours and £5 for more than four hours.
