Holbeach Town Band set for Learn to Play Week

Holbeach Town Band is bringing back its annual Learn to Play Week for the 23rd year.

From Monday to Friday August 3 to 7, its Back Lane base will be open from 2pm to 4pm every afternoon.

The band welcomes visits from anyone interested in learning to play a brass instrument.

There is no charge and the band will provide the instruments.

Everyone aged over seven is welcome to go along.

A spokesman said: “If you have ever thought about learning to play a brass instrument, or if you have played in the past and would like to try again, this is the perfect opportunity.

“The band’s experts will be on hand to show you how to play a wide range of brass instruments – cornet, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, trombone and tuba.

“The band will be able to teach you how to play an instrument and how to read music. You can return as often as you like during the week but will get the most benefit from coming every day.

“The band are always pleased to welcome existing players to their rehearsals on Wednesday evenings.”#

Longer term training is through its starter and learner groups on Saturday mornings and the Training Band for improvers on a Wednesday evenings.

For further information contact the band’s Musical Director, Mel Hopkin on 07743 246448. Email him at [email protected] or visit the band’s website www.holbeachtownband.org.uk.
