2016 proved to be a very successful year for Holbeach-based Shadow Martial Arts.
The club, which has been running for 16 months, has had a number of wins at competitions throughout the country and has also introduced a new class allowing younger children to learn martial arts.
Matt Flatt and Aaron Bloodworth, the club’s coaches, are extremely proud of their team’s achievements.
“All of our members work so hard and have been dedicated to succeeding,” said Matt. “It has been a tough year and all fighters have given it their all.
“We are impressed with their dedication and commitment to the sport.”
One of the club’s many successes came from the Cimac Superleague, where Isobel Wicks was series champion.
Wicks and Isabel Garrill also achieved series champion status at the Norfolk Open Series.
Shadow MA have also had numerous successes at the Peterborough Championship Series.
Back in September, Shadow MA celebrated their one-year anniversary by launching a new class.
The new weekly sessions allow four-six year olds the opportunity to have fun, play games and be healthy whilst learning a martial art.
There are currently 16 young members in the group – and they all sat and passed their first grading of red belt.
Bloodworth added: “We are excited to see how this class develops over the years and we have so much fun teaching these members.
“We have already seen great progression on the skills, discipline and dedication these young people need to succeed.”
Shadow MA train at Holbeach Community Centre. More information can be found on their Facebook page ‘Shadow Martial Arts’.
