Those behind an inclusive music festival are looking for businesses to harmonise with to ensure it keeps hitting the high notes.
The Going Forward Music Festival is back at South View Community Primary School in Crowland on Saturday, July 26.
It was started in 2017 by Aly Commons and Rita Stacey with the aim of making an event that’s inclusive and accessible as possible.
That’s after they set up the Going Forward Social Group aiming to give young adults with complex needs, physical and learning disabilities the opportunity to socialise with their peers in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
And it’s proved a huge success with last year’s being the best so far as 500 people attended.
“It was an amazing, vibrant fun packed day,” said the group’s Vicki Wright. “The feedback from families was incredible. Buoyed by this, plans for this year’s event are in full flow.”
The group is looking to hear from anyone who might be able to sponsor the Going Forward Music Festival.
“We are currently looking for local organisations who would be generous enough to either make a donation towards the event or sponsor an element of it such as the stage, the marquee, the accessible facilities,” Vicki continued. “We’d love to hear from anybody who may be able to help.”
