An unbeaten 53 from number seven Clive Bayston proved vital as Moulton Harrox recorded a home win against Heckington in South Lincs and Border League Division One.
Batting first, Moulton’s openers Mike Kearns (28) and Louis Greetham (15) gave them a solid start, but a clatter of wickets left them in a spot of bother.
Enter Bayston backed very well by Jake Morton (37).
The pair ensured the home side posted what proved to be a competitive total of 163 for 7 from their 45 overs.
Jake Ellis caused the home side most problems taking 5-30 in 7.5 overs.
Nohman Jarral (4-35) took two early wickets to give Moulton a great start in the Heckington response while Alin
Carter (4-23 from eight overs) decimated the middle order.
Two of his wickets were bowled and two caught and bowled leaving the visitors struggling.
However they were given hope as Will Harris counter-attacked impressively backed with as much stubborn resistance as the tail can muster.
The return of Jarral and Alex Barker (1-26) brought wickets and left Harris stranded on 63 not out as Heckington were 145 all out with eight overs still remaining.
