Health Information Week at libraries

Spalding and Long Sutton libraries are taking part in Health Information Week.

The national campaign runs from January 20 to 26, and libraries in Lincolnshire will be highlighting the wide range of books and digital resources they have on health.
Library staff have also been trained in helping the public sign up for and use the NHS app with leaflets available in the libraries to help.
“Customers without a device or internet access at home can instead access the NHS Account website for the same services, using one of the libraries free to use public computers.
Nicola Rogers, partnership manager at Lincolnshire Libraries said: “Libraries play a vital role in helping people to both find and access trusted information. According to a recent Ipsos survey, librarians are the third most trusted profession in Britain.
“We firmly believe that facts matter and are keen to use the training and support we have been given through the National Health Literacy Partnership to help our communities access trusted information.”
