Having a ball for firefighters

A special Halloween ball has helped raise around a grand for a firefighters’ charity.

Fire crews across South Holland regularly host car washes to raise money for The Firefighters Charity, but due to the recent Covid restrictions they’ve not been able to take place.

To help make up some of the deficit, Holbeach company Sound4Sound put on a special ball at Holbeach Community Centre on Saturday, October 30, headlined by the band Redemption.

Holbeach Fire Crew manage John Kinder said: “Many thanks goes out to all the local Holbeach and Long Sutton based companies who gave money sponsorship and raffle prizes to assist with the fund raising on the night.

“The aim of the night was to raise money for the charity, but we also gave local people an amazing night out for a very small amount of money, in return all the guests on the night gave very generously, we are still waiting to finalise the accounts but we are confident we will be donating £1,000 towards the firefighters charity.”
