Handmade Christmas tree for Crowland nearing completion

The fruits of a festive knitting and crocheting project by Crowland Crafters is expected to be ready to display any time now.

Some months ago the group decided to make a Christmas tree and decorate it with handmade decorations.

Julie Smith, secretary of Crowland Community Hub said: “We get lots of people involved including the WI and around 50 people have now contributed to it.
“Once it is finished being put together it will go on display at the Crowland Community Hub/library and when that closes for Christmas it will be moved into a local shop window.

The tree – expected to be finished by Sunday (Dec 18) – is about 5ft 5in tall.
