Hall’s past, present and future

Those behind a Pode Hole community centre are putting on an event this Sunday where they hope to hear from what local residents want to see from it.

The Bromley Memorial Hall in Pode Hole is offering free mulled wine, tea, coffee and mince pies from 11am to 3pm.

“This special event aims to encourage people to pop in and share their thoughts on the future of the hall, which has long been a central hub for the community,” a spokesman for the community centre said. “The hall, now under an additional three new trustees, is in the process of modernising to ensure it meets the needs of today’s residents.

“The trustees are keen to hear from people in Pode Hole, Pinchbeck, and Spalding Monkshouse about how the hall can better serve the community – just as it did when it was once part of the school in Pode Hole back in the 1960s.

“Bromley Memorial Hall belongs to the people of Pode Hole, and with your input, it can become an even stronger community asset for future generations.

“We want to make sure the hall continues to be a safe and active space for the community,” said one of the new trustees, Amber Sinclair. “This event is a chance for everyone to have their say on how we can breathe new life into the building.

“Whether it’s activities, improvements, or new services, your opinion matters to us. We can then make sure there is funding to allow us to make these changes. We have already successfully won a UK Shared Prosperity Grassroots Grant Fund to fix the roof.”

The trustees are also eager to gather any historic photos or memories of the Hall, especially from the 1960 to 1990s, as they are embarking on a heritage project to celebrate the history of the hall and Pode Hole itself.

Anyone with photos or memorabilia is encouraged to bring them along or get in touch.
