Group hopes to save WI Hall for the town

A group of volunteers looking to continue running a Holbeach centre for the community is putting on a host of events, including a Frankie Valli tribute to help get it more used.

Holbeach Women’s Institute Hall on Park Road was given to the town by the Carter family, and for years it has been overseen by the WI.
But earlier this year they asked those that use the hall to come up with a committee to take on its running.
Stewart and Tracey Bradley took on the mantle as chair and vice chair along with a host of volunteers.
They’re working on installing a licenced bar and looking to improve the kitchen and get a hygiene certificate as it aims to be a hub for all the community again.
The first event is The Jersey Boy, a tribute to Frankie Vaili and The Four Seasons on Saturday, November 25. Doors open at 6.45pm with the show starting from 8pm. Tickets are £15.
Other highlights being lined up are a Christmas concert on a date to be arranged, a Christmas Fair on November 18 and the band Katmandu playing on December 23.
Regular bingo and coffee mornings are also being looked at as well as making the hall available for private hire such as weddings.
Stewart said: “We want to ensure the WI Hall continues and is something that all the community will be using.”
