Grigas gives Crowland win over leaders

The race for the GCE Peterborough and District League looks to be wide open again.

Leaders Whittlesey Athletic Reserves were handed a second defeat of the season by Crowland Town, Harry Grigas’ 31st minute goal enough to claim the points.
Moulton Harrox meanwhile are down in seventh after losing 3-0 defeat at home to Uppingham Town.
Long Sutton Athletic were on the wrong end of the same scoreline in Division One at Yaxley Reserves.
Division Two leaders Sutton Bridge United lost 6-4 at home to Peterborough Polonia.
Tydd Reserves also lost at home, 3-2 to Leverington Sports Reserves. Brandon Harker and Kai Scott-Henson on target for Tydd.
Amid all these losses for South Holland sides, it was at least a good day for Crowland Town as their reserves also won.
Chris Down, Nathan Woodward and Martynas Vaiciulis netted for Crowland’s second string.
A meeting of two South Holland sides in Division Three saw Moulton Harrox Reserves win 4-0 at Long Sutton Athletic Reserves 4-0.
Freddy Parker scored twice and Cameron Bedden and Thomas King once each
Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves picked up their second point of the season as they drew 2-2 with Sawtry Reserves.
Jordan O’Rouke and William Knight netted for Whaplode in the second half to earn a point.
Division Three league leaders South Lincolnshire Swift were in Junior Cup action.
They beat ICA Sports to go through to the next round.
Mackenzie Bonnett have them a sixth minute lead that was cancelled out by Jamie Cogings before Keane Slayven restored the lead in the 21st minute.
Kieron McConnell, Jack Watson and Daniel John Taylor gave the Swifts some breathing space before ICA netted twice more.
In Division Four, Moulton Chapel lost 12-0 at Hampton Rangers.
In the Sunday Division One, Crowland’s Sunday side capped a good weekend for the club winning 5-0 at Thorpe Wood Rangers thanks to a Samuel Leggatt brace and goals from Jamie Beeken, Archie Rickards and Keelan Walker.
South Holland United lost 7-2 to North Scarle in the County Sunday Cup.
