The promising career of talented Gosberton teenager Abbi Pulling has received another big boost after she was selected to join The MSA Academy’s Elite Motorsport squad.
The move follows a hugely successful 2017 which culminated in Pulling winning the Junior TKM Championship.
And, as well as dominating the Welsh Championship, she also took wins at the TKM Festival and British Open Championship.
Pulling collected a host of other prizes too, including the British Women Racing Drivers’ Club’s (BWRDC) Junior, Kart and the coveted Mary Wheeler Embassy Trophy for the club champion in February.
The South Holland 16-year-old was one of 17 youngsters selected as demonstrating potential excellence in motorsport. She joins just one other female – Katie Milner (BWRDC GoldStar and 2016 Club Champion) – in the squad. She continues in the programme for a second year.
The MSA Academy allows members to benefit from the knowledge and resources originally developed for the Team UK and AASE programmes.
Race ace Pulling is looking forward to joining up with her fellow squad members.
She said: “I am very happy to have been selected for the MSA Academy Squad and the opportunities it can offer.
“I can’t wait to get started.”
This coming season sees Pulling defending her TKM Championship, while also starting her move to circuit racing in the highly competitive Ginetta Junior Championship.
She scored a top ten finish at Brands Hatch in the opening round and is looking to move up the grid at the next race later this month at Donington Park.
Pulling is also coaching other youngsters as part of her own personal development.
BWRDC chairman Lorraine Gathercole said: “I am really impressed by Abbi, her maturity is way beyond her years, and her determination to be the best is sure to see her go places.
“However, like all young racing drivers, Abbi needs financial support to enable her journey to the top levels to continue.
“This selection onto the MSA Academy Programme goes to prove that industry professionals believe she has what it takes, and hopefully being a part of this programme will highlight her talent to potential sponsors and partners.”
