Good felines at cat show

The International Cat Show is set to get feline fans purring as it returns to Springfields this weekend.

The fourth instalment of the show put on by the TiCats and Cakes Cat Club is open from 10am on both Saturday and Sunday (June 29 and 30).
Organisers say judges from as far afield as America, Germany and France are set to attend.
This year there will also see ‘The Catagility Project’ – a fully enclosed cat agility course.
“If nothing else we can guarantee it’s hilarious and a real crowd pleaser,” a spokesman for the event said. “All visitors are welcome to come in and soak up the atmosphere.
“People will be able to see the judging rings up close and chat to the exhibitors about their particular breed of cat.
“Everything from a household pet kitten, right up to Supreme Grand Champions will be on show and vying for the top prizes including the Cat of the Year.
“Visitors will be given a rosette (supported by Rookes Pet Products) to award to their favourite cat for The Visitors’ Choice award.
“There will also be a host of stalls plus a raffle with the chance to win a fully automated cat litter tray worth £800 and there will be cake; everything is better with tea, cats and cakes.”
The event will also support the Lincs Ark rabbit and cat rescue centre.
Entry is £5, £3 for OAPs and free for children under 16.
