Spalding Cycling Club’s riders made an impressive return to action as they took the overall team prize at the King’s Lynn CC 25-mile open time trial.
The squad of Josh Wallis, Neil Palmer, Frazer Wallis, Simon Wright and Elliot Stones were on fine form at the Downham Market event, clocking a combined time of 2.53.30hrs.
Josh Wallis was Spalding’s star turn as he took third overall with a time of 53.17mins, while Palmer (58.04mins) also finished in under an hour.
Frazer Wallis (1.02.09hrs), Wright (1.07.20hrs) and Stones (1.10.03hrs) also finished well to help secure the title for the South Holland speedsters.
* Spalding CC’s Tuesday night time trial scene resumed last week – although the distance was reduced to 4.5 miles due to COVID-19 restrictions.
It was a cold start to the season for the 24 riders in attendance, with an avenge temperature of just two degrees and a wind chill of -4.
Josh Wallis took the win in 10.09mins, edging Neil Palmer (10.20mins) into second place. TeamOnForm’s youngster Bryn Richards (10.37mins) wasn’t far behind in third, while Frazer Wallis (11.04mins) was the third Spalding CC finisher.
