Golden girl Ellie’s top award

A Pinchbeck Girl Guide has earned her Gold Award, the highest accolade possible.

Ellie Murrin (13), from 1st Pinchbeck (St Mary’s) was presented her award at a special celebration at Shanghai Garden in Spalding.
As part of the award Ellie has completed many badges including backwoods cooking, photography and fixing.
To achieve the fixing badge she had to create a maintenance guide for her home including how and where to turn off the gas, electricity and water.
She also learned how to maintain her bicycle in good mechanical order and mend a puncture.
As her special challenge she tried metal detecting for the first time and has now taken this up as a hobby.
Leader Jane Amess said: “This award has taken time and commitment to achieve and is something Ellie can be really proud of”.
