Get hung up on tale of a criminal

You Are Invited to an Execution!

That’s the name of a special show involving a number of local groups which is showing at the South Holland Centre this Sunday (November 2).

“This is the story of Jonathan Wild, an 18th century thief-taker who had a double life as London’s most prolific criminal,” a spokesman for the venue said. “This brand new, specially commissioned play brings the tale of

Jonathan Wild to life with a variety of storytelling techniques.”As with many miscreants, Wild met with his grisly end at the hands of the law, but he would have wanted to go out with a bang, so in that spirit, You Are Invited To An Execution.”

This project is part of the Future of the Past initiative led by SoundLincs and is a collaboration between Spalding Gentlemen’s Society, the South Holland Centre and Act II Theatre Company and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and South East Lincolnshire Council Partnership.

The show is aimed at people aged 12 and over as it contains staged violence, capital punishment and mature themes.

Tickets are £5 or £4 for concessions which are available from www.southhollandcentre.co.uk
