GALLERY – Couple say bye to Bluebell in style

More than 250 people helped a couple start retirement celebrations after 22 years running a village pub.

John and Jen Lusher are stepping down from The Bluebell in Whaplode St Catherine next month.

To celebrate they held a special retirement party at the pub on Sunday during which the public were encouraged to take a picnic and enjoy the music put on for them.

The Fallen, BHDC and Stardust Eric were among those to play on the day.

And there was also the chance to welcome the new landlords, Jason and Kayleigh Watson.

John said: “It was absolutely brilliant.”
