Focus switches to finals night for top players

The Spalding & District League is just about finished for another season. Division One and Two are finished and Division Three has just one game remaining.

With three new teams wanting to join next season, the future of Monday night darts looks bright.
The next few weeks will see play-offs to reach the singles and pairs finals.

On the Division One finals night there will be a 180 throw-off to see who wins the most 180s of the season after Andy Bingham, Ant Richardson, Duncan Hunt, and Simon Hill finished equal on five each. The highest check-out went to Colin Hatter, with 161. Top players of the season were Nick Moyses, who won 92.31 per cent of his games, and Sam Roberts and Hill, who both won 91.67 of theirs. Best leg of the season went to Mark Waters and Mark Horspool, who had a fine 13-dart leg.

The Division Two award for most 180s went to Jacob Herd, with four, and highest check-out belonged to Wigs Harrison on 155. Top players of the season were young Charlie Henderson, who won all his games; and Danny Goddard, who won 91.67 per cent; with Steve Rawding and Herd’s 90.91 earning them a share of third place. Best leg of the season was by Paul Faulkner and Stu Page in the pairs with a 15-dart leg.

Anyone interested in putting in a new team for next season must attend the league’s annual meeting at Spalding Services Club next Monday, August 11, 8.30pm.
