Flower parade’s top free music

This year’s Spalding Flower Parade is going One Step Beyond with an extra night of free music on the Friday.

It’s not just Saturday where there will be musical entertainment at its base, this year at the Springfields Events Centre.

From 7pm tomorrow (May 9) there’s entertainment from the ABBA Orbit Show and Badness, a group specialising in ska covers including playing classics by the likes of Madness, Bad Manners and The Specials.

That’s on top of the wealth of musical talent on offer on Saturday following the parade itself, including a headlining set from Taylor Swift tribute ‘It’s Not Taylor’ aka Vikki Earle.

A spokesman for the organising committee said: “ABBA Orbit brings to life the legendary Swedish group’s iconic style and sound, delivering an unforgettable show filled with timeless hits while Badness are the UK’s most entertaining ska revival show who also play their own songs.

“It’s Not Taylor is a family friendly, exhilarating performance that captures the essence of Taylor’s iconic style, voice and electrifying
presence.”
