Five wins on the spin for in-form Sutton Bridge United

Sutton Bridge United continued their impressive run of form with a hard-fought 2-1 triumph at Stamford Belvedere on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0 at half time in the ChromaSport Peterborough League Division One clash, strikes from Sam Cooper and Ben Partridge clinched Bridge a fifth win on the bounce.

The men from Memorial Park are now just five points off top spot with a game in hand.

At the foot of the table, Moulton Harrox collected their first point of the campaign after drawing 2-2 at Langtoft Reserves.

Young gun Declan Earth and club legend Nigel Steadman grabbed the goals for Harrox.

Up in the top tier, there were defeats for Holbeach United Reserves and Crowland Town. The Tigers lost 3-2 at Stilton, while Crowland were handed a 4-0 reverse by AFC Stanground.

Meanwhile, Spalding Town romped to a 5-0 derby win at Pinchbeck United Reserves in Division Two. Marcus Parry led the charge with a hat-trick, while sub Dean Grummitt rounded off the rout with a double.

Fellow Division Two side Crowland Town slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Ketton Reserves to stay in the bottom three.

In Division Three, Tydd St Mary ran riot with a 7-0 hammering of hosts Uppingham Town Reserves. First half-goals from Phil Franklin (25 and 39) and Tim Lowe (34) put the Saints into a commanding 3-0 lead, before Scott Pemberton (59), Joe Harrison (72), Nicholas Reims (80) and Jake Jones (81) rounded off the rout.

In Division Four, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves roared to a 9-2 victory at Parkway Eagles Reserves.

Tom Grantham’s treble was the highlight for the Magpies’ second string, while Mark Garner (2), Ben Thompson (2), Jeremy King and Dan Newell also netted.

The goals were also flowing at Memorial Park, where Tydd St Mary Reserves came back from 2-0 down to beat Warboys Town Reserves 5-3.

Their goals came from Tom Chenery (2), Kyle Davis, Jack Fowler and Dale Parnell.

However, Lewis Machin’s goal couldn’t stop Holbeach Bank losing 2-1 at Parkside and Sutton Bridge Reserves lost 1-0 at home to Stamford Belvedere Reserves.
