Feasibility study on Spalding traffic management nearing completion

A project to assess possible improvements to Spalding’s traffic management system is nearing completion.

Two schemes being considered are part-closure of Swan Street between Station Approach and Winfrey Avenue, and installation of a mini roundabout at the junction of Winfrey Avenue and Kings Road.
Lincolnshire County Council secured funding to carry out a feasibility study, which began in autumn last year.

Senior project leader Richard Hardesty said: “We’re continuing to work on the feasibility study relating to potential changes to the Swan Street and Winfrey Road/Kings Road junctions in Spalding, and expect to complete it by the end of March.
“We’re currently considering traffic modelling options which will further inform any recommendations to come out of the study.”
