Farmers agree to voluntary speed limit through Moulton Seas End

Farmers in Moulton Seas End are working with the local community to address speeding concerns in the village.

At a recent Community Panel meeting, representatives from four farming companies met with villagers and agreed a voluntary speed limit of 24 miles per hour for tractors through the village.

The new self-imposed speed limit took effect on Tuesday.

PCSO Bev Robinson, from the Spalding Rural East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Community Panels are all about police, local residents and businesses coming together, identifying issues of concern, and finding ways to address them and this initiative at Moulton Seas End is a perfect example of how communities can help themselves.

“Speeding in the village had been identified by the panel as one of their priorities and I am really grateful to Lincolnshire Field Products, Naylors Farms, Oldershaws of Moulton and Jack Buck Farms for their co-operation and commitment to tackling the problem and it would be great to see other local businesses coming on board to offer their support.

“The hope is that by local vehicles reducing their speed, traffic passing through will also be encouraged to slow down”.
