Enterprise Way in Pinchbeck closed due to road sinking

An emergency closure has been put in place on a Pinchbeck road due to it sinking.

Enterprise Way has been closed between Stephenson Avenue up to Edison Close from today (Wednesday May 27).

Lincolnshire County Council haven’t said how long it’s likely to be closed for as officers say they’re still investigating the cause.

It had previously been closed for repairs after the road sank in November 22.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Officers have reported that a large depression has appeared on the road itself and, as a result, the adjacent footpath has become unusable.

“There is a well signed diversion route in place during the closure, which is: Enterprise Way/Benner Road/Wardentree Lane/B1356 Spalding Road.

Shaun Butcher, Highways manager at LCC said: “We will initially investigate the cause of the depression by excavating in the vicinity of the road and footpath areas affected.

“We will update with what will happen next as soon as we have the information from the excavation, until then we cannot say when the road will be open again.

“Our crews are working onsite and we will carry out these works as quickly as we can.

“I would like to apologise for any disruption this causes and thank everyone for their understanding and patience while we get on with the excavation.”

The diversion.
