Egg hunt was a grand day out

Over 1,000 people had an egg-cellent time in the sun at Ayscoughfee Hall on Good Friday, raising more than a grand for charity.

In total 420 young people and their families hunted the historic gardens to earn a chocolate in the Macmillan Easter Egg Hunt.

Together with a host of games a total of £1,127 was raised for the charity by its Spalding and Holbeach branch.

Its current chair Lorraine Buckingham, said: “It was such a lovely day with fantastic weather and turn out.

“There must have been at least a thousand people at Ayscoughfee, probably more, which led to the event being very successful and raising the amount it did.

“We’ve had great feedback with lots people saying what a lovely, really easy going, family event it was, and a relatively inexpensive day out.

“Thank you to everyone who attended and all of the volunteers.
