Early trophy success

The first local football silverware of the new season has already been claimed.

A convincing display from Peterborough League champions Moulton Harrox saw them lift the League Cup with a 4-0 win against Senior Cup holders Oakham United at Blackstones in Stamford.
Man of the match Dec Earth opened the scoring with Josh Maguire, substitute Mason Shores and an opponent completing the tally.
It could have been many more in a one-sided clash with only a superb display from the Oakham goalkeeper and some wayward finishing keeping the score down.
Moulton start their defence of the league crown with a pair of local derbies. On Saturday they take on Crowland Town at Snowden Field before making the midweek trip to Tydd’s Glebe Field.
