Three Dr Who fans are ready to show off their hard work this summer – a full-size model of a Tardis.
They have created a replica of the time machine for under £100 and plan to use it to raise money for charity.
Project manager was RoXas Strife, a 22-year-old who recently changed his name by deed poll from Colin Spendelow. A big fan of the BBC One show, he models himself on the tenth doctor (David Tennant).
RoXas’s partner Talia Bailey (18) and full-time mum Charlotte Morgan (22) helped build the 10ft x 6ft Time And Relative Dimension In Space model.
The trio started building the plywood Tardis about six weeks ago, but completion was delayed when RoXas sustained a hand injury during construction.
RoXas’s neighbours have been able to keep an eye on progress too as some of the construction work has been carried out in front of his house in Regent Street, Spalding.
Charlotte said: “It’s as lifelike as we could make it.
“We got hold of the dimensions of the actual one and eventually we’ll have lighting and a phone in it.”
However, don’t expect to spot the the Tardis airborne anytime soon – it relies on a much more basic form of travel.
Charlotte said: “It folds down to flatpack so we can transport it.”
The Tardis will raise money for Wood Green Animal Shelter charity.
