DJ’s latest blast from the past

After a hugely successful job of bringing back an iconic nightclub, a local DJ has his sights on a 90s v 00s night this weekend.

Shaun Neal regularly puts on ‘vintage nights’ at Spalding Services Club.
On Saturday he’s back behind the decks for the trip to the 1990s and the 2000s.
It follows up on the huge success of the Merlins nightclub Reunion that took place last month.
“Over the last couple of years I have had people say to me I should organise one so in the end I did and the attendance did not disappoint,” he said. “Within the first two weeks of tickets going on sale the event was sold out and even up until the morning of the reunion people were messaging me if any tickets are available.
“The night was a huge success and it was great to see some old faces.
“I arranged a WhatsApp group with the old DJs who played at the club to see if they would perform on the night which was a ‘yes’ straight away!
“Some of the DJs I had not seen for 20 years, so it was really nice for us to get together.
“We was also joined by old bar staff, security and management which was fantastic.
“We even bought back some nostalgia with the Merlins ‘bottle bar’ and famous Merlins ‘diary’ which we had infront of the DJs for people to sign.”
After the 90s and 00s night, Shaun is hosting an 80s night at the Services Club on November 18.
