Derby spoils shared as Pinchbeck United and Holbeach United battle out a draw

South Holland rivals Pinchbeck United and Holbeach United drew 1-1 in their Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North derby on Monday.

In a clash between two of the leagues bottom three, the first half was goalless at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field as the Tigers fielded a number of debutants.

And it was Danny Clifton’s side who went ahead early in the second half when a cross was deflected into the net by Pinchbeck defender Dan Worthington.

Archie Moyses levelled immediately for Lewis Thorogood’s Knights from a fine free-kick, but neither side was able to grab a winner – depite Holbeach ending the game with defender George Warrington in goal.

The draw gives rock-bottom Holbeach only their third point of the season, while Pinchbeck remain just above the drop zone.
