A man is to be deported following an assault in Spalding.
South Holland Neighbourhood Team says it was working undercover in the town centre when it caught Mihai Cojocaru on Friday May 3.
The 23-year-old was spoken to in relation to a police investigation into thefts from ATMs using a cash skimming device.
When officers tried to arrest him he assaulted a female police officer.
Lincolnshire Police described Cojocaru as ‘of no fixed abode’ though when at Lincoln Magistrates Court on the charge gave an address in Lincoln.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and fined £262, made to pay £85 costs and a £105 victim surcharge.
It then became apparent he was in breach of a deportation order.
