Darts round-up: Teen talent Logan hits a 180 in a week of cracking cup clashes

It was all about cup fixtures in Monday night’s Spalding and District Darts League action.

In the Dick Morgan Cup, Consti D beat Tigers B 4-3 with a last game win for Ady Smith to seal the win for the Consti.

The other tie saw Drayman’s Arms beat the Abbey Hotel 5-2.

In the Supreme Cup, Consti A cruised to a 7-0 win against Pinchbeck Football Club with 15-year-old Logan Goddard hitting a 180 in his win.

An all-Tigers clash saw the A team beat the C side 5-2, with 180s from Gary Mace and Simon Hill.

The game was closer than the score suggests, with Jason Hammond and Dan Carnell wining the last two games for the A team to ensure victory.

p In the previous week’s round of Division One matches, there was a high class encounter between Tigers C and Consti A – with the latter winning 5-2.

There were 180 maximums from Simon Hill, Steve Urch and Jason Vines, a 129 checkout for Graham Burgess and a 14 dart leg for Duncan Hunt.

The other top tier game saw Hank Watson in fine form with a 180, 111 check out and an 18 dart leg, but his Rose and Crown team lost on the night 4-3 to Pinchbeck FC.

It’s early days in the league, but it already looks a tight season with five teams on the same number of points.

In Division Two, Tigers B pipped the Drayman’s 4-3 to stay in the running for promotion.

Also, there was a great start to the night for Consti D – with them going 4-0 up in the first four games in a 5-2 win against the Royal Mail Cart.

As with Division One, it is early days but the division is looking to be a closely fought encounter.
