Dan’s trek in district

A man walking the entire coastline of Great Britain to raise money for veterans strode through South Holland last week.

Daniel McNeil has already raised over £11,000 for military charity SSAFA through the mammoth task of walking all 16,000 costal miles of Britain including islands.

Originally from Dumfries in Scotland, the former member of the Royal Artillery began in March 2021 and is expecting to take three years to complete the challenge.

Heading south through this area during Saturday and Sunday, Daniel spent a night at Pippa’s Pantry in Sutton Bridge after walking 14 miles through the area.

Milkshake Madness in Holbeach provided him with a carvery.

“I worked hard for it and it was such a blessing,” he posted on social media. “As soon as they said there was a carvery I was so grateful.

“I feel very blessed.”
