Cup exit after heavy home defeat

Pinchbeck United put on a brave show but their Lincolnshire County FA Senior Trophy hopes were ended at holders Boston Town on Tuesday.
The hosts had lost only one county cup tie in four years but were hard pushed to break down a resolute Knights side.
The first goal did not arrive until the 53rd minute when substitute Lucas Dakin netted and passage to the semi-finals was only secured with a second goal in stoppage time from Liam Adams.
However, Pinchbeck’s woeful home form continued on Saturday with a 7-1 drubbing at the hands of United Counties League Premier Division North leaders Sherwood Colliery.
The hosts fell behind to a fifth-minute penalty and were 4-0 down just before half-time when Nathan Bowen pulled back a goal to raise hopes. It was only the Knights’ second home goal of the campaign but they went on to concede three more, taking their home goals against total to 37.
Knights v Silverwood: Cox, Simpson (Kanu), Fields, Skhoyimue (N Stevens), Robson, Jaine, Spafford (Yambasu), Henderson (Djalo), Slater, Bowen, Ibeneme.
Attendance: 39.
