Cue ace Reynolds’ 72 lights up league

Donington cue ace Neil Reynolds lit up Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League this week as he made an outstanding 72 break.

Neil (O49) comfortably saw off opponent Mark Gray (O105) 163-1 helping his Donington C side to a 5-1 win over Bourne SC A.

Other winners on the night were Lee Hempsall (O7), Mat Turner (O21) and Ben Wrigglesworth (O21).

The lone winner for Bourne was Ian Clare (O7) who was victorious over Neil Favell (O14).

Also in Division One, Holbeach C have leapfrogged Pyramid C into second place following a 5-1 win.

Jason Green (O63) bagged breaks of 38 and a 22 clearance in his win for Pyramid, but it wasn’t enough with Shaun Lee (O28), Nick Edwards (R7), Dan Ashton (scr) and Damian Lewis (R14) all winning their frames for Holbeach.

There’s no change at the top of Division Two with Bourne SC C holding onto first place with a 4-2 win at Donington B.

Sean Jeynes (O7) made a 23 break in his win over Phil Burrell, with team mates James Kingston (O21) and Jack Chilvers (O14) also seeing off their opponents.

Winners for Donington were Pete Burrell (scr) and Gav Lewis (O7).

Sutton Bridge A remain in second but missed out on the chance to gain on the league leaders, going down 4-2 to Services B.

Alan Hansard (O7), Tim Nash (O28) and Paul Doades (R7) walked away with the spoils for Services, with Glenn Ryan (O7) and Shane Balding (O42) picking up the points for Bridge. A 29 break helped Balding to his win.

Pyramid B are leading Division Three following a top-of-the-table clash with Gosberton C.

The match saw Pyramid B jump into first place after winning 5-1.

Lester Gaunt (O42) lead the way with a 40 break in his win 92-51 over James Elliott (scr).

Regan Cooke-Holmes (R7), Richard Clark (O7) and Adam Gibbs (R14) all won their frames with Andy Shephard (R21) the sole victor for Gosberton, beating Roy Jackson (R7) 68-36.

Consti I jumped up the table into third place with a fine 5-1 win at Services D.

Stewart Wells (R14) pipped Ady Liquorish (R14) by one point to win the opening frame for Consti.

Team mates Jonathan Smith (R21), David Twelves (O7) and Pete Stokes (R7) continued the form to round off the score.

Services D’s single point went to Mark Howlett (O7) who beat John Bellerby (R7) 61-28.

Down at the other end of the table Consti D couldn’t lift themselves off bottom, despite a 4-2 home win against Pyramid E.

In a match that could easily have been a 6-0 whitewash Ray Digby (R21), Steve Moore (R14) and Martin Perkins (O21) all won their frames for Consti.

Elliot Gaunt (O14) and John Clapton (scr) won for Pyramid E both snatching black ball games for their side.
Gaunt made breaks of 21 and 20 on his way to victory.

* In the Spalding and District Billiards League, leaders Donington secured a 5-2 win over third placed Consti B.
Winners for Donington were Tony Scully (R60) and Ben Wrigglesworth (R50). Jason Rose (R40) pipped Nigel Brasier (R100) by six points to claim a win for Consti.
