Crowson praises two-goal Woods and talks up Moulton Harrox’s title charge

Bullish assistant boss Paul Crowson insists that Moulton Harrox are focused on retaining their ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division title after Saturday’s 3-0 win at Deeping Rangers Reserves.

Second-half strikes from new signing Dan Woods (2) and Joe Townsend gave Harrox the points at The Haydon Whitham Stadium – and leave them one point behind leaders Netherton United with a game in hand.

The top two meet at Broad Lane this Saturday (2pm) – and Crowson wants to make home advantage pay.

Crowson said: “We created a lot of chances early on, but were disappointed to go in level at 0-0 at half time.

“We gave them a bit of a talking to at the break and Dan Woods, who has made a big difference since joining the club, got two quick goals to settle the nerves.

“After that Joe Townsend’s goal made the points safe and put us in a very strong position in the table.

“With us being just a point behind Netherton – who we play at home on Saturday – that game becomes a really big one.

“Obviously, they are very strong playing on their plastic pitch, so we’re pleased to have them on grass.

“Our objective here remains to win the title again. We’ve got over what was a bit of a tough start to the season and are now going really well.

“It’s a shame that we’re out of the Lincs Cup, but these things happen.”
