Crowland get derby honours

Harry Grigas and Ethan Allen found their way to goal to get Moulton Harrox’s GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League title defence off to a losing start.

The Crowland Town duo struck to earn the hosts a 2-0 victory on the opening day of the Premier Division season.
Moulton bounced back on Tuesday with another derby date, this time at Tydd, where they emerged 3-0 victors, Declan Earth and Nathan Smith among the goals.
Tydd were also left pointless after their first game on Saturday but did have a goal to celebrate.
Unfortunately by the time Matthew Cousins scored in the 79th minute of their home match against Deeping Rangers Reserves, the away side had three.
There was also defeat for Holbeach United Reserves, who went down 3-0 at Whittlesey Athletic Reserves. They conceded three more at home to Leverington Sports on Tuesday but this time netted three of their own to claim a point from a 3-3 draw.
There was no good news in Division One on Saturday, where Long Sutton Athletic slipped 3-0 at home to Stamford Belvedere, while Danny Firth struck in Whaplode Drove Rovers’ 2-1 defeat at home to Warboys Town Reserves.
It was a different story on Tuesday, when Rovers got off the mark in stunning fashion, seeing off Wisbech Town Reserves 7-1.
There was also a first point for Long Sutton, who drew 2-2 at home to Whittlesey Athletic Development.
