South Lincolnshire Crematorium is inviting members of the public and local funeral directors to an open day, encouraging meaningful conversations and helping to build greater understanding around cremations.
The open day, which will take place on Saturday, August 29, between 10am and 2pm, is a unique opportunity to meet the team, look around the crematorium, and learn more about the support and services available.
Funeral and bereavement support organisations including The Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM), OrthoMetals, Bereavement Support Group, and Suicide by Bereavement will be there to provide families with advice and guidance on coping with grief.
Attendees will also be able to learn more from celebrants about creating meaningful and personalised celebrations for loved ones.
Mark Higson, South Lincolnshire Crematorium manager, said: “Crematoriums can understandably feel unfamiliar for many families and our open day is a way to welcome the local community through our doors and help them gain a better understanding of the services we provide and the support available to them during difficult times.
“We aim to strengthen our connection with local people by meeting them, answering questions and providing reassurance, ultimately showing we are always here to support our community with compassion, care and dignity.”
