Abbi Pulling’s GB3 Championship weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria was curtailed.
The Gosberton race ace had finished eight and sixth in the first two races but failed to get beyond the third bend of the final race.
That was because after making a brilliant getaway to challenge for the lead, there was chaos when her Rodin Motorsports teammate Maxim Rehm and Xcel’s Lucas Fluxa collided, spinning Rehm across the pack and taking Rowan Campbell-Pilling and Pulling with him into the barriers.
That forced Pulling out of the race to end a promising weekend on the sidelines.
She finished 8.513 seconds behind first-placed Nikita Bedrin in the opening race but improved to sixth in her next outing, having battled hard with VRD Racing’s Patricio Gonzalez for much of the race.
Those two races gave Pulling 30 points and, with a third-race blank, it leaves her in seventh place overall going into the next round at Silverstone on August 1 and 2.
