Crafty Bees are buzzing to help

A group of Crafty Bees are continuing to create a buzz with their creations helping those in difficult situations.

The Bees aim to be a social group doing crafts every Thursday morning at Boxes of Hope in Holbeach from 10am.

Among the items they create are ‘Little Angles’ and teddy bears to be given as part of packs to parents grieving the loss of a baby.

They’re often created in pairs so one of the bears or angels can be with a still born and the other can be kept by its loved ones.

Similarly they provide teddies for young children from families being looked after by refuge charities.

The Busy Bees also create sensory sleeves for those that would benefit from it, be it sparking memories in dementia sufferers or inspiring those with learning difficulties.

Others have made hats for people who may have lost their hair due to the treatments they go through.

There’s also regular projects they work on including designing Christmas trees and they’ve helped create a float for the Spalding Flower Parade too.

One of the members, Karen Wright, said: “It’s a fantastic thing to get involved in.

“We all get together to do crafts and have a natter.

“We just want to use our craft skills for a good use.”
