Alan Cox got the better of six other boats to win round three of Welland Yacht Club’s Frostbite Series on Sunday.
The Solo of Paul Burton soon took the early lead from the Scorpion helmed by Andy Prior and crew Tom Bell, follow by the Topper of Cox, Lasers of Alan Chapman and Alistair Mitchell, the Merlin Rocket helmed by Ivan Hirst and the Phantom of Geri van Haren.
As the race progressed Prior and Bell raced into the lead and van Haren would made his way through the fleet, with the only retirement being the Laser of Chapman.
First back across the line were Prior and Bell, then van Haren followed by Burton, Mitchell, Cox and Hirst.
However, once handicaps were applied the win would go to Cox, with Burton second and Prior and Bell in third.
