Councillor’s call on Crescent weeds

A councillor says he’s looking to put on another volunteer clean up of The Crescent in Spalding, but that it should be better maintained by one of the councillors.

Coun Aaron Spencer, of Sedge Estate Agents in the town, previously led other volunteers in tidying up the area, including pulling up lots of weeds.

But he now feels it needs to be done again.

“It’s so overgrown at the minute and really looks grim,” he told a meeting of the Spalding Town Forum last week.

“I’m happy to work with other volunteers, being the hub of offering coffee and tea and getting it done, but I think we need a permanent solution.”

The forum’s chair, Coun Rob Gibson said: “I have a feeling some of the weeds are on private property.”
